Els' K9 Coaching was founded by me Els, I'm a passionate dog lover and worked with animals for most of my life. i started walking friends dogs and pet sitting, I then joined an animal education center the ARC where i did a veterinary class and animal training class that is where I first learnt how to write training plans and a use clicker but on capybaras not dogs. all while rescuing and rehabilitating my first dog Peggy a fear reactive french bulldog she taught me to much about the correlation between pain and behavior which is something I am still very passionate about today. unfortunately she passed away only 9 months after we adopted her. Next I studied animal management at college at this time is also when we got Lola our now 3 year old cavapoo. After college I worked at a doggy daycare for 2 years first as a part time volunteer and then with a full time position. After working there I noticed that many owners struggled with training an adolescent and/or reactive dog. I saw the need for personalized, force-free training methods to help these dogs reach their full potential and improve their behavior. This is when i started my dog training course and dedicating my time to studying dogs and advocating for better practices. I also discovered I have a love of trick training and spreading the word that trick training is not only fun but have huge benefits for you and your dog.
