Life Skills Class
This is the perfect beginner class for puppies or older dogs that need a bit of a refresh. They are held at Medhurst Hall on Sussex road which is just off west Wickham high street. The course is 6 weeks only every Tuesday at 6pm. Your dog will also get a goody bag and certificate.
What will they learn:
Sit and wait - Teaching your dog to wait can be so helpful for lots of different things, waiting to cross the road, waiting before getting out of the car, waiting at the door while you let people in ect.
Recall - Recall is really important so you can trust your dog will come back when you call them so they don't get loose or run int any trouble.
Leave it - This skill can save your dogs life, if you where to drop something toxic to dogs like medication, chocolate, onion ect your dog may go to eat it a simple leave it cue could save them and a very expensive trip to the vet.
Loose lead walking - teaching your dog to walk nicely on lead is so helpful so you can walk them without worrying they will pull you over.
Settle - Have you ever wished you could take your dog to a cafe or pub and they would just relax well that is exactly what settle training is for.
Drop it - this is an important skill to prevent resource guarding

Life Skills Plus Class
This is the next class up from life skills however your dog doesn't have to of done the first class if they already know the basics. They are held at Medhurst Hall on Sussex road which is just off west Wickham high street. The course every Friday at 6.15pm. Your dog will also get a goody bag and certificate.
These are rolling classes meaning that you can join at any point and don't have to commit to a set number of weeks.
Here is what some of the weeks will involve:
Focus games - We will play various interactive games to improve your dogs focus.
Impulse control - teaching your dog to ignore food, toys, people and dogs and not act on their impulses.
Tea & biscuits - this week the room is set up like a cafe and your dog will practice settling around food an other distractions.
Trick training - your dog will learn some fun new tricks that will build their confidence and improve obedience.
Have a go agility - your dog ill learn some agility skills and have a go at running a course.
Challenge week - This week we will challenge your dogs recall, sit stay and loose lead walking with games like hide and seek and musical chairs.
Introduction to scent work - your dog will learn to sniff the scent tin and find it underneath cones this is brilliant mental stimulation and a great calming activity.
Why choose classes?

Classes are a fantastic way to socialise your dog as they will learn to be calm and neutral around other dogs a people. They are more cost effective you get more sessions for your money. You might make friends with other local dog owners. a great way to try something new with your dog and spend some one on one time with them out of the house.
